2015 Dance For Kindness
This is a video I filmed and edited for the Kansas City participation in Life Vest Inside's 2015 international Dance For Kindness event. I set a stationary camera and had two moving through the dancers to capture footage from a total of four different attempts of the dance. I selected clips from hours worth of footage and turned it into a video to exhibit Kansas City's kindest.
KC Roller Warriors Promo
I made this video to help promote the 2015 Rink of Fire Championship Bout for the Kansas City Roller Warriors, the league I play for. I interviewed several players, filmed two bouts, and then edited the footage together into a promotional video to help create hype about the upcoming game. The video was shown on a local news station.
"The Story of You" Short
This is a short I wrote and filmed (most of) following a 3 Day Film Challenge Prompt. The video had to include an editing theme from a selection of ten, a silhouette and dolly push-in, and the phrase "The future isn't what it used to be." I found inspiration from a web post asking what you would do if you found a book with your entire life written in it. I wrote with my usual poetic style and tried to create an intriguing and slightly suspenseful story.
"Last Dance" Music Video
This is a music video created and directed to the song "Last Dance" by Camera Can't Lie. The idea circled through my mind for several months before I decided to do anything about it and when I did, it turned out much more grand and dramatic than I originally planned. It remains to date one of my favorite projects I've ever worked on.
"Fire and Ice" Short
This is a short I wrote and edited following another 3 Day Film Challenge Prompt. This video had to include ice and the phrase "cold as ice." I took inspiration from the contrast between fire and ice and a poetic approach of telling the story. Editing is not my strong suit, but I decided to keep most of the shots blue tinted until to fire shots to further illustrate the conflict.
